Special thanks to everyone who participated in the “fan made” album contest! We had a really hard time selecting a winner for the cover art and are blessed to have so many gifted fans. It was a close race with just one single vote tipping it over the edge. Without further adieu, the winner is…
First Place – Michael Baughan, Archival
Second Place – Lizzy Layne, Crazy Engine
Both will receive a pair of tickets to the show of their choice (festivals and some special events excluded) and will be thanked in the liner notes of the album. Michael, your art will be used for the final product!

( ADD A COMMENT )I’m very disappointed with the decision for the winner. I would have went with the 1st or 7th one before I would go with that one. It looks like it was made on MS Paint and the inverted colors make it look corny. Sorry, just my opinion.
Wow, I’m honored! For anyone who is curious, the cover image is a photo I took of an outbuilding on some farmland that’s been in my wife’s family for 100 years.
i think that one was selected for the emotive resonance, but i agree they could have spent more time looking at the others

In my opinion, Lizzy Layne’s submission was a cut above the rest…but at least she will still be recognized
Well, differencengine is my fave, but at least the winner evokes a mood and has a cohesive style. No offense intended, but I’m having a hard time understanding all the support for some colored lines and kitschy clip art.
Lizzy layne’s is by far in a league of it’s own, it’s too bad, I don’t mean to be a hater but all the other submissions look amateurish, especially the winner, I’m just being honest, sorry if I hurt anyone’s feelings.
Good thing this wasn’t a public vote, because there appear to be a bunch of biased (and bitter) ballot stuffers running around. If anything, Lizzy’s looks amateurish by comparison. It’s clip art, for heaven’s sake, and not even clip art that relates very well to or says anything intelligible about SK’s music.
Drop it people. It’s over.

though i enjoy many of the choices, i think the first place album art is easy on the brain. wait. you know what, they’re all good, plus, it’s the music that i’m really after.
